Trauma-Informed Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Young Adults

We are currently accepting clients for our Trauma-Informed IOP for young adults ages 18-26. Call 763-577-2489 to learn more.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a longer-term structured care program that consists of intensive treatment and stabilization for individuals with chronic and severe mental health difficulties within an outpatient therapeutic setting. This program is ideal for individuals with complex histories of depression, anxiety, and trauma.

What is “Trauma Informed?”

Trauma Informed Mental Health Care is an approach that recognizes and acknowledges trauma and its prevalence, alongside awareness and sensitivity to its dynamics, in all aspects of mental health service delivery. Trauma Informed Therapy primarily views individuals who struggle with mental health as having been harmed by someone or something in their lives, as compared to traditional views which can pathologize and place blame on people and their difficulties. Trauma informed therapy is grounded in and directed by a thorough understanding of the neurological, biological, psychological and social effects of trauma.

Our Trauma Informed Mental Health Care programs are guided by the principles of safety, creating therapeutic spaces where people feel emotionally, physically, and culturally safe, as well as awareness of an individual’s discomfort or unease, transparency and trustworthiness, collaboration, and empowerment. Our program combines the latest research and evidenced based practice, utilizing different skills and drawing from multiple treatment modalities to meet the unique needs of our clients.

How long is the program?

Length of stay in the program depends on individual goals and treatment needs. Most individuals attend for 6-12 months. We recommend that you commit to a minimum of 6 months to maximize the benefits of the program. This is an ongoing program, which means that individuals may enter the program at any time, pending openings.

When does the program meet?

Program dates/times are yet to be determined. The program will meet 2-3 days/week for 3 hours each day. Please let us know your availability and preferences when you call (763-577-2489).

Weekly individual therapy is a requirement of the program. If you do not currently have an individual therapist, you may be matched with a therapist at Monarch Behavioral Health.
